Bio

I am a fundraising consultant with nearly two decades’ experience in the not-for-profit sector, and six years’ experience as a freelancer. I have worked for organisations in the social justice, health, youth, and international development spaces, both charities and CICs. I specialise in fundraising from trusts and foundations, but I also have experience in statutory and corporate fundraising.

I regularly work on all stages of the fundraising process, from the initial research and pipeline building, through the construction of cases for support, project and budget design and the submission of funding applications, to funder meetings, monitoring and evaluation and grant management. I am experienced in researching and writing fundraising strategies.

Lastly, I spent a couple of years as a programmes coordinator, so I understand the need to design projects and construct applications so as to be readily usable and accessible to those who will be putting the work into practice.

• Raising grants of five and six figures from trusts, foundations and statutory sources, exclusively for small to medium-sized charities.

• Researching grantmakers and developing funding pipelines.

• Managing grants and monitoring programmes for a wide range of donors.

• Working with charities to improve their fundability across all the work that they do.

• Development of fundraising strategies, organisational business plans and Theories of Change.

• Developing sustainable relationships with funders and other stakeholders.

• Researching and writing reports; managing media strategy and digital presence; advising on communications and marketing strategies, and developing communications materials.

• Three years’ experience of corporate fundraising.

• Designing projects with budgets of up to £1.5m.

• Designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems.

• Creating a fundraising function from scratch for a charity.
